Laparoscopic & Surgical Procedures

Laparoscopy is a diagnostic procedure that is minimally invasive and with minimal risks. This procedure is typically conducted to examine the pelvic area of a woman and identify causes of infertility.

The procedure involves a laparoscope (a telescope-like instrument) that will be inserted through an incision made at the belly button. The procedure typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

During a laparoscopy, if a problem has been detected and can be treated such as ovarian cysts, our fertility specialist might proceed with treatment during the procedure.

Surgical procedures

Reproductive surgery are surgical treatments that involve the reproductive system. Reproductive surgery can be divided into two categories:

Assisted reproductive surgery are treatments that address anatomical issues that hinder contraception. This includes surgically treating obstructed fallopian tubes and vas deferens obstruction.

Reproductive surgery, on the other hand can also be a form of contraception whereby the surgery will involve obstructing the reproductive system to prevent egg fertilisation. An example of this is a vasectomy
