About Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive naturally after 12 months (1 year) of regular, unprotected intercourse. Couples aged above 35 should seek medical advice if they have yet to conceive after 6 months of regular, unprotected intercourse.

What is Infertility?

Generally, infertility refers to the inability to get pregnant after one year (or more) of unprotected sex.
85% of couples with normal fertility will conceive within one year. The chances of conceiving diminish each month as the woman ages.

Following six months of unprotected sex, women aged 35 years or older may consider infertility treatments.

Infertility Rate in Malaysia

Infertility rates in Malaysia range from 10 to 15%. The World Health Organization has classified infertility as an acute disease. It contributes to lower fertility rates.

The public’s misperception of infertility may affect how they approach this issue.
